A Guide to Nonprofit Personnel Files

I'm sure at some point TWZ will have a need for personnel files, but I ended up reading this post from the Blue Avocado e-newlsetter and found it highly interesting. The editor provided, among other things, a long list of items to EXCLUDE from a file, a checklist of items to INCLUDE in a file and the fact that an NP should have 4 separate files for an employee:

~ A personnel file for each employee
~ A separate medical file for each employee
~ One folder that has Forms I-9 for all employees
~ A file (or set of files) for all employee payroll records
